Implement SimBrief Route Fallback for Disconnected Tracking

Featured Replies

Hi Elevatex team,

I want to suggest a feature that would improve flight data integrity during connectivity or app authorization drops.

The Issue: Recently, I experienced a brief period where the Elevatex application lost authorization mid-flight. Because the app couldn't send position reports during that time, my flight map showed a straight line between the disconnection point and the reconnection point, rather than the actual flight path.

The Suggestion: It would be great if Elevatex could implement a "fallback" logic for these gaps. If the application detects that it is failing to send position reports, it should automatically cross-reference the active flight plan from SimBrief.

If a connection is lost, instead of leaving a straight line on the map, the application could "fill in the gaps" using the waypoints defined in the SimBrief flight plan. This would provide a much more accurate representation of the flight path even if the live data stream is interrupted.

Why this helps:

  • Data Accuracy: It ensures the flight log remains accurate even during minor network hiccups or app authorization issues.
