June 2Jun 2 This will be mostly subjective, so don't take this post as "This must be changed to work this way", this is just my personal opinion about some UI and interactions of things I personally would like to see changed, none of these is a deal breaker, and I can totally see different people having different preferences, so take this simply for what it is. I have no training or formal knowledge about UI and design, so if I can be totally wrong on some things. Although I've already have a play and customized some options, it's 100% possible I missed something that would have "fixed" something that I'm complaining about, so if that's the case please let me know. So, first I would prefer if the aircraft image was a little bit more "emphasized", I quite like to upload screenshots of my planes, but even for the vast majority of people that use the real photograph, I think it'd be better if at least it was a full 16:9 image instead of it being cropped vertically, even if you select a screenshot to upload, the area you select will then get cut vertically. Unless images/photographs are centered perfectly they can sometimes look a bit bad.If you're looking at your own planes the "Go Back" and registration are also very obtrusive, not a huge deal, but very slightly annoying. In general Volanta gives the aircraft image more "real estate" and I think the overall presentation is nicer because of that. Also it feels like the images gets darkened a lot, if your shot isn't very bright with favourable lighting it will look terrible, it wouldn't look great in Volanta, but it'd be at least recognizable Secondit would be nice if I could group/ungroup the aircrafts from here, basically move the "Group Aircraft" drop down from Settings > Preferences to somewhere that can be accessed directly from that "Aircraft" page. I also noticed that if you sort, it will still sort by individual aircraft and then group Here I've sorted by "Flights Flown" and then in descending order, the reason why the BAe146s are in the wrong place is because I have flown 12 flights in one singular B461 airframe, 11 flights in one singular B462 airframe, and 8 flights in one singular B463 airframe, so the number that matter are still the ones for singular airframes, not the whole group, I think that's quite un-intuitive design, if they're grouped, I'd expect the sorting to be done by group as well.Third, if I'm on the map and I click on a random player this is all I get In my personal opinion, it should already be "expanded" by default (same view you'd get if I clicked on "Details", I can't really see a scenario where I'd click a plane on the map, and don't want to look at that information, unless it's a misclick, this turns what should be just a one click thing into a two-step process Similarly, if after clicking on that plane I click on another (let's call them plane 1 and plane 2, plane 1 is the one I clicked "originally", plane 2 is the one I clicked now), the thing related to plane 2 gets put below plane 1, that makes logical sense, but I'd argue that it'd be better if this action minimised plane 1's window, and instead automatically placed and expanded plane 2's window. After all, if I click on a new plane, it's most likely because I want to look at that other plane. What I'm trying to describe is exactly like VATSIM radar handles this, with a very similar interface and overall "idea". Fourth If I click on an aircraft, even if I'm not in the "Flights" tab, I see no reason why the map shouldn't show your flown routes, the map isn't being used for anything else anyway, sometimes I just want to have a quick look at what flights I've done with a certain airframe and this again turns what should be a one-click interaction into a multi-step process Fifth Not sure exactly how to implement this, it doesn't really matter as long as the information is there, but it'd be great to have the VATSIM ATC uptime (how long any particular controller has been up), either by right click or by just hovering your mouse over a specific sector like VATSIM radarAlso, I'd prefer if right click just gave to you the information rather than requiring one additional click to get to it, so maybe it'd be nice if you just right clicked and it told the frequency and for how long they position has been opened (and maybe the name/CID of the controller as well?), I know if you left click on an airport it will give you more information, but I think it would be more intuitive if it was tied to the overlay of the VATSIM ATC position, rather than to the airportSixthI would really appreciate having the reg of the plane/particular aircraft here as well, maybe placed next to the A/C type like this?TAP767 | TP767 L101 | CS-TEB Whatever you decide, it'd be nice if it was there Last, but not least, not UI related at all, but I'd appreciate having a satellite view, ideally without the airport being covered, sometimes just looking at the satellite view and looking for what planes is parked at the gate you want to spawn at can be a quick and dirty way to do a "sanity check" that you're spawning at an appropriate gate.If I come across something else or can think of anything else I'll post it here Edited June 2Jun 2 by FD1003
June 3Jun 3 Author Ah yes, one more thing Let's say I'm looking at some else's flight, and then want to see one flight in particular, for example VOE83UE from this random user If I click "Go Back", it won't actually "go back" and bring me to Maty32's flights, it will bring me to my own flight history, which is annoying. June 3Jun 3 Author Also sorry for any awkward grammar and typos/mistakes, I didn't realize I had a time limit to edit my posts, if I knew I would have done a better job at proofreading. Also after all this criticism I must say, I really appreciate your mission with Elevatex, I've been trying to move away from OrbX since their latest controversy, you seem a lot more consumer friendly and I appreciate that you respect me and my data more than OrbX, I also overall really like your app and the whole design, and using it has been mostly straightforward and intuitive, so don't take this post as an indication that I think Elevated is awful and you did a terrible job.
