I know this sounds cliche but having a chat function in elevatex so that users can chat with friends within the app without leaving the app would be a move that differentiates elevatex from the crowd. I understand that it is not a messaging app primarily but this feature would give some benefit of having a add friend feature in the app . otherwise, what is the purpose of having friends in the app without the ability to communicate at all ? if this is not feasible , then perhaps an alternative will be to add a discord tag or other platform communication tag so that users like me know who to add to discord or other messaging platform for us to communicate there instead of within the app when we see each other flying in the same direction or opposite to our destination.

ideally would be to have the chat feature within the app so that we can talk directly to one another (friends) without having to leave the app and communicate elsewhere in discord, team speak, etc. (provided there is a discord id or tag when identifying the friend/player thar we would like to add as friend)

I'll have a talk about it, but since we are a flight tracker, a chat function isn't completely needed. But maybe later down the line it could be a 'nice to have feature'.

If we do decide to add it, don't expect it for a while as we have a bunch of other more important things on our todo/backlogs.
