NEW ELEVATEX build is here - What you need to know!

Hey everybody!

We’re excited to announce that our newly revamped app is officially live! Our development team has been working incredibly hard over the past few months, and we’re extremely grateful for their dedication, along with the amazing feedback and testing provided by our QA team.

This update introduces our brand new EFB, along with several other improvements designed to elevate your experience even further. Be sure to check out the changelog below for all the details!

Important Information moving forward with new build
- Globe Mode 🌎: We know many of you have been looking forward to Globe Mode. We wanted to bring it to ELEVATEX just as much as you did. However, after extensive testing with our current provider, we observed a significant increase in CPU usage while the app was running. After careful consideration, we determined that implementing Globe Mode at this time would negatively impact the app. For that reason, we’ve decided not to move forward with Globe Mode in the current build. That said, we’re always exploring alternative solutions and future possibilities, and we’ll continue to revisit this feature as the platform evolves.
- RAM Usage: While this update includes many improvements, you may experience slightly higher RAM usage. We didn’t want to delay releasing these new features and improvements any further. Optimizing performance remains a top priority for us, and we’ll continue refining the app to ensure the best possible experience moving forward.
- MSFS 2020/24 Connector: With the new feature set, we've added a plugin for MSFS2020/2024 that is required for tracking. To install, navigate to Settings -> Plugins, and install the plugin for FS2020/FS2024
- Engine Hobbs Time: Engine Hobbs time will reset for each and every airframe that was created prior to this update
- Search Bar: We plan to add the search bar in the next upcoming update!

- Incremental Updates

- Ability to download updates at a much smaller file size. Small patches will be ~8MB instead of downloading the entire ~100mb.

- Troubleshooting page to easily see in an overview if there are issues with one of the services or connections.

- Ability to set units to your likings, reflected throughout the entire app

- VATSIM Traffic also using ELEVATEX can now be hidden, either only your own VATSIM aircraft or all ELEVATEX aircraft active on VATSIM.

- Ability to switch the app between flight and block times

- Ability to specify if you would like to see IATA/ICAO codes.

- Ability to select how you would like to see the scheduled times in the app, airport local, user local or Zulu.

- Easy to use VATSIM frequency switcher, right clicking on any center, approach or airport will allow you to set your frequency instantly

- Enhanced Discord RPC with flight phase information, pushback, taxi-out, takeoff, climb, cruise, step climb, descend, approach, final approach, landed, taxi-in.

- Airport map with weather colored markings ⚪️LIFR, 🔴IFR, 🔵MVFR, 🟢VFR.

- Airport details with airport information such as preferred runways, and inbound/outbound traffic.

- New overlay for flights on the map when clicked on, for both VATSIM and ELEVATEX aircraft.

- Ability to pause tracking, for example when the sim crashed and trying to load an autosave.

- MSFS WASM Module for simulator connection

- Brand new filtering system for flights and aircraft

- Enhanced gate detection using Navigraph AMDB, it will only give a prompt when it has detected being on more than one stand if not it will automatically set it upon push and flight completion.

- Changed design of VATSIM sectors on map (labels and sector colors)

- Ability to remove the profile banner and picture completely.

- Optimized flight chart for active flight

Fixes

⦁ Resolved Aircraft not being moved to new location upon flight completion.

⦁ Resolved issues with D-ATIS not working

⦁ Resolved pause time not being set for certain flights under certain conditions

⦁ Resolved connector reconnect logic, now it should be more robust when the sim crashes to reconnect upon the sim reload.
